This may have been the most fun freelance job I’ve had to date. IMO Messenger, which is an app for your mobile device that allows free calling, messages, groups, etc all while avoiding fees, approached me asking to make a sticker set of one character. After a couple rounds of sketches, they selected this octopus fella and off we went.
In addition to designing 16 different character emotions, IMO had me turn half of those into animations. That is where it became particularly fun. I hadn’t animated in quite some time, but always loved to back in school. So this gave the the motivation I needed to learn (the basics of) After Effects.
